Topics: the costs of college; the expected family contribution; federal and state aid; need-based aid and merit aid from colleges; how to save for college; strategies for finding great colleges that also fit your family finances; key dates and application timelines.

College Search: How to build a great college list

Learn how to focus on finding a good fit in your college search process. Topics: the elements of fit—academic, social, financial; how to develop your own college criteria; resources for finding new colleges to add to your consideration list; how to research colleges in depth; the importance of keeping an open mind and making trade-offs.
